Shot Peening

This is a harderning treatment method by shootting steel ball onto the product surface at high speed. The resulting increase in residual stress due to compressed air pressure effectively improves wear resistance, stress corrosion cracking resistance, heat dissipation and reduces fluid resistance. This type of treatment is widely applied from automobile parts such as springs, gears, conrods, crankshafts… to aircraft parts such as jet engines, wings, landing gears, pressure vessels in chemical factories.
At PPV, shot-peening is being applied for the motorcycle’s clutch details.
